Frequently asked questions

  • Is this Hot Yoga?
    No…….If you are looking for the benefits that Hot Yoga promises it is suggested that you come for a consultation
  • Is this Yin?
    No……. Hatha Yoga balances the two opposites that co relate with Yin and Yang. Depending on the season and time of day different aspects of Yoga are practiced, practicing one leads to imbalance.
  • Is this Flow?
    Yes…… Eventually. The motto is slow before flow. Yoga is the art of paying attention reducing unnecessary suffering, this begins with the investigation of how we sit, stand, move and relate.
  • What style is it?
    No style, it is Hatha Yoga for the attainment of Raja Yoga as is required. All teachings are based on this foundation and delivered with the knowledge attained through practice.
  • I have been practising Yoga for years/I am a Yoga teacher, can’t I just come to class?"
    No……. It’s not that the teachings are a secret or that we are all elite. Classes are aimed at growth, the teachings are therapeutic in nature and focussed at the level of the students. All classes start with a warm - up of focus and body that is learned in the beginner’s course. Value for money is always hampered when classes have to be paused to explain the basics Yes……. The relax and restore is open to everyone.
  • Do I have to be flexible?
    Being flexible enough to admit that you are not flexible is the best place to start. We all need to work on the balance between flexibility and strength in mind and body. There is an imbalance if one of these is more dominant.
  • Do I have to become a Vegan or Vegetarian?
    No………. Your choice is your choice, as part of Yoga teaching, diet will be covered but nothing is compulsory.
  • What age can I start at?
    Any age, classes can have people from 14 to 70.
  • Do you offer teacher training?
    No……… but after 3 years practice that question may be considered. This shows that the student is serious and is willing to train for another 3.
